Abstract: The Digital Distribution Report was undertaken by the Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC) to provide an environmental scan of Canada’s digital distribution services and how Canadian documentaries are performing on those platforms. The report provides statistics on how Canadian documentaries perform on several broadcaster web portals, iTunes, and on National Film Board’s (NFB) online platforms. The study points out that the creation of benchmarks and indices for the performance of documentaries on digital platforms is a key first step if the industry is to exploit this market.
