Abstract: This study seeks to measure the state of independent bookselling in Canada in 2018. The stores surveyed are primarily English-language bookstores, privately owned, owner-operated, and/or part of a small regional chain. They also have a significant portion of their stores dedicated to display and/or sale of books. Stores owned by a larger/national chain were excluded. The study focuses on results compiled from Booknet's bookselling survey. Material covers, revenue, inventory, sales, marketing, and more.
