Abstract: After the release of their 2013 report, Baseline Study on the Membership and Industry of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada, it was noted that only 4% of participants of the study were women. Due to this, the Screen Composers Guild of Canada created a Women’s Composer Advisory Council to get an insightful look into this revelation. This report examines the number of women composers working within Canada, the work that they do, and the barriers that women face while entering or further developing their career within the industry.
